This weekend is shaping up to be beautiful weather, and a perfect start to Charleston's 25th annual MOJA Arts Festival. The festival is scheduled for Thursday, September 25th through Sunday, October 5th. The majority of the Festival's events are admission-free, and those that aren't are moderately priced from $5 to $35.
Shrimping season officially opened at noon Friday, September 12th in South Carolina waters, and will remain open until Tuesday, Nov. 11. The entire season lasts just 60 days each year -- the cost for a resident license is $25 and non-residents licenses cost $500. The daily catch limit is 48 quarts whole or 29 quarts headed per boat or set of poles per day, and the limit is 10 poles per boat.
